Hey everyone, I apologize for the long gap between posts. I've been busy playing host to my family and husband for two weeks. So, instead of a day by day update, enjoy the many pictures and captions that follow:
Steve arrives in CB and is greeted by a complete rainbow. It's like Mt. CB knew he was coming and decorated for the special occasion. :)
The pics above are from my programming day with Serendipity. On this day we summited Mt. CB! It's AMAZING that so many of our kids summited; they have amazing wills and strengths.
This is the Disc Golf course in the town of CB (there's one on the mountain but I haven't played there yet). On this night Steve and I met a bunch of ASC peeps for dinner at Pitas in Paradise, and afterward we walked to the disc golf course to play a few holes before the sun went down. Amazing night! So nice for the ASC crew to bring Steve into the fold so quickly. <3
The pics above are from two separate program days. The first was a canoe day at Lake Irwin with Serendipity, and the second was a canoe day at Blue Mesa with an eight year old girl with Down Syndrome. She was super sweet and loved to play in the water with me and Lindsey. :D
These pics are from our family fishing float down the Gunnison River. Steve's parents drove into town with my mom, and my sister Jenny drove herself. They're all staying in a swanky condo on the mountain. Everybody caught fish, but everyone struggled to get them into the boat (brown trout are fighters!). Awesome day on the river!
Steve, Jenny, and I hiked up to Meridian Lake two days in a row. It's a nice, albeit cold swim. Totally worth it after a long day's hike.
More evening frisbee golf with ASC peeps! My skills are starting to improve! And just check out those views!
On this day we hiked with Mom, Pam, and Dave to Lost Lake and Anthracite Falls. It's such a perfect hike for people who aren't acclimated but are looking for a challenge. And the views are so awesome!

These are from my hike with Steve to Scarp's Ridge. It has STUNNING views of the entire valley. A "must do" hike for those with the lung capacity to pull it off!
Steve and his Dad summited Mt. CB on their own this day. Go, guys, GO! :)
We took the parents on a hike up Snodgrass, and then on a drive up to Paradise Divide (taking Washington Gulch Rd, and then down Slate River Road). They loved the views and the flowers along the way. :D

And these are the rest of the Scarp's Ridge pictures (yes, I am too lazy to move each individual picture up to join the rest of them). It was so beautiful, and I am grateful to have experienced it with the man I love. <3 The next day I drove with Steve to Denver. On Sunday he flew home. :( And it's back to the lonesome life for me. This time though, I am coming home to a group of friends instead of an unknown and intimidating existence. I met them upon my arrival home at a birthday party for one of our favorite ASC participants. It's such a wonderful feeling of coming home to a group of amazing, genuine friends. And I know that we hope one day to be coming home for good.
